Time To Buy YUM
YUM! is the owner of Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, and A&W Root Beer. The stock performed well last market report and is currently trading around its market high for a year. Around 60% of revenue for the company last quarter can be accounted for by international revenue, and with the booming economy of China, that number is looking to grow. China is the number one growth market for YUM! brands right now. I just bought 135 shares of the stock today. Make sure you buy a few shares before it’s too late.
Very Funny Animated GIFs
While scouring youtube I came across this clip of really funny animated gifs. I like the references in there, such as the ones of David Bowie in Labyrinth and Madness Our House. Enjoy!
Beer Pong Rules
Normal beer pong rules and the explanation of those rules.
Standard Rules:
- A team consists of two players, and the game is team vs. team.
- 10 cups in a triangle formation per team.
- 2 beers divided evenly into the cups per team.
- Cups made must immediately be removed from the table and drank in a timely manner.
- A bounce, off of any surface whether intentional or not, counts for two beers. The second cup to drink is chosen by the team who bounced it.
- You may swat away bounces.
- Cups may be moved slightly away from the table edge to avoid being knocked over. If your ball knocks over the opponents cup unintentionally then it is a loss for the opponent. If your ball is thrown to knock over a cup intentionally then it does not count.
- If you knock over any of your own cups by mistake or otherwise they are a loss and cannot be replaced.
- Bitches blow (girls are allowed to blow the ball out of the cup when the ball is spinning on the inner walls of the cup, but not after the ball lands into the beer).
- If each player in a team makes one cup in the same turn then a rollback occurs, where that team gets a second consecutive turn immediately.
- One re-rack may be granted at any time per game, but can only be done at the beginning of a team’s turn before they have shot. During rollback, a team may use their one re-rack before the start of their second turn.
- Distracting the other team in any way as long as it does not affect the ball’s path is allowed.
- If a team interferes with the ball’s path in any way directly or indirectly then that team must lose a cup of their choice.
- The team that makes their balls into all of the opponent’s cups wins pending rebuttal. Rebuttal takes place when a team makes the ball into the opposing team’s last cup. The opposing team then gets one last turn to make one of their balls into the other team’s cup or lose. If a team makes both balls in the opponent’s last cup during the same turn there is no rebuttal and the game is over.
- Rebuttal:
- The team carrying out the rebuttal needs only to make one cup to stay in the game.
- If both teams have only one cup remaining, and the ball is bounced into the cup during rebuttal, then rebuttal is achieved and the defending team must then make rebuttal or lose.
- If both teams have only one cup remaining, and a team makes both balls in the opponent’s cup then rebuttal is achieved and the defending team must then make rebuttal or lose.

MyBlogLog and Adsense
After noticing a discrepancy in the number of Adsense clicks reported in MyBlogLog stats compared to Google’s Adsense stats, I decided to do a little research on the problem. It turns out I’m not alone. I found at least four or five other bloggers with the same problem, lots of clicks reported on MyBlogLog but none credited on Google Adsense.
It turns out that because MyBlogLog tracks Adsense clicks, it may be a conflict in Google’s Terms of Service and a violation of Adsense rules, which are grounds for account cancellation. I have not, however, heard of anyone’s account being terminated so far for using MyBlogLog but I guess the possibility stands.
There are a couple of reasons why the disagreement in the number of clicks may be happening. Myself and a lot of other bloggers use digg and reddit to get our posts out into the world for people to see them. Whenever an article is submitted to these sites, there comes a huge gain of temporary traffic. I believe the best reason why the clicks are not counted is because Google’s anti-fraud system is at work. They notice an upsurge in traffic, and because of this, regards the clicks gained from it as fraudulent.
Another possibility that may be happening is that MyBlogLog tracking interferes with the Adsense code. When someone clicks on an ad it is reported to both my MyBlogLog and Adsense, and perhaps somewhere in there along the way the Adsense code becomes jumbled.
A third possibility is that MyBlogLog’s tracking code is simply wrong and inaccurate. Apparently if you’re using a non-Internet Explorer browser like firefox and reload the page with your cursor over the ad MyBlogLog will count that as a click.
Once I found out about this information I decided to play it safe and remove the MyBlogLog code from my website. Perhaps it might be a good idea for you to consider doing the same.
How To Meet Japanese Girls
Here’s a couple of ways you can meet or get a Japanese (or any asian) girlfriend:
1. Join Asia Friend Finder
Asia Friend Finder is a great way for guys to get in contact with any type of Asian girl. They have hundreds of girls available from all over Asia just waiting to talk to you. You don’t have to be an Asian male to sign up either, white guys or any nationality can join too.
2. Go Abroad
What better place is there to meet Japanese girls but in Japan? Instead of waiting for them to come to you, go to them. This is also the best way to meet the hottest Japanese women because you have a whole country of people to choose from rather than the one or two that live near your hometown.
3. Take the language
One of the best ways you can meet Japanese girls is by taking the language. It’s a good excuse to meet them at first and it also provides a really good base to start conversation on. Try to get a conversational partner that’s a girl or if you get a guy try to hang out with him to meet his girl friends.
4. Participate in Japanese Groups and Events
If there are any Asian related events going on in your hometown, stop by and check them out. If there’s an Asian-related group in your city see about joining and offering help to their cause. If you’re in college, there are tons of Asian organizations you can meet girls in. Check out all of them.
Of course there are other ways to meet Japanese girls but these are the most effective. The best part is that once you meet one, you’re likely to meet more since she has girl friends too!
WordPress Title CEO
I noticed while I was checking search results for this website that the blog name was included in every title page. This is a bad thing because it undermines the value of your article title for keyword search results. The problem was that every article was titled “Dick Logan >> Post Name” instead of just “Post Name”. This article explains how to fix that.
WordPress Title CEO:
1. In your WordPress control panel go to “Presentation“, and click the tab “Theme Editor“.
2. Select the header.php file by clicking on the word “Header” in the right menu.
3. In the header.php file, find the words “<title>” and “</title>” and replace everything between them with the following code:
<?php if (is_single() || is_page() || is_archive()) { wp_title(”,true); } else bloginfo(‘name’); ?>
4. Don’t forget to save by hitting “Update File“.
Your blog post titles are now fully optimized for search engines. It may take a few days to weeks however for search engines to update the changes in their search results.
How To Disable Your Facebook Public Search Profile
Facebook is opening up to the rest of the world and making their profiles public search listings, allowing Google and search engines to index user profiles. There have actually been some people that say this is a good thing and that it empowers users to portray themselves the way they want to be seen when their name is Googled. I say bullshit.
It’s a great move for Facebook because they’ll gain an enormous amount of search engine traffic, most likely coming up as the first result in name searches. It’s a bad thing for Facebook users however because it strips them of their ever-shrinking privacy. Fortunately we have the option now to disable our profile from being publicly listed, but who knows what will happen later on down the road.
How to Disable Your Facebook Public Search Profile:
1. Click “privacy” in the top right corner of your profile home page.
2. Under “privacy overview“, click “Search“.
3. Uncheck the “Allow anyone to see my public search listing” and “Allow my public search listing to be indexed by external search engines” boxes.
4. Don’t forget to hit Save!
Opening Facebook up to the public has taken them yet another step closer to imitating their social network rival MySpace. With the recent addition of Facebook apps, the site is now able to emulate any type of profile feature displayed on MySpace. Facebook is looked up upon by many as a classier and more sophisticated MySpace but with the way things are going it looks like that’s all going to change in the near future.
Regardless, there should one thing kept in mind regarding Internet privacy:
You have nothing to gain and everything to lose.
Top 5 Sites That Destroy Productivity and What To Do About It
The Internet is crammed with so much information and entertainment that it constantly distracts you from your productivity goals and ultimately leaves you with no money at the end of the day. Here are the top 5 sites that destroy productivity:
5. Gmail
Believe it or not, e-mail may not seem like a productivity waster but all that occasional checking really adds up. I know friends that check their e-mail inbox 70 to 80 times per day. With such frequent checking, it’s nearly impossible for them to get any work done.
Solution:
Luckily, the solution for constant mail checking is easy. Download Google’s Gmail Notifier and you’ll be notified from your taskbar every time you receive a new message. Voila, no more wasted productivity checking mail.
4. Web-Browser Based Games
Browser-based games are not only fun but addicting, most averaging you at least an hour or more of lost productivity time per day. My two favorite browser-based games could cause me to go all day without getting any work done at all if I let them. For the sake of your own good, I’ve decided not to mention them here in case you’re not addicted to them already.
Solution:
Fixing this isn’t going to be as easy as just downloading some program. Take the game in moderation, set a fixed start and stop time for yourself and stick with it. You’re allowed to have fun, but too much fun will never bring home a paycheck.
3. Facebook
Facebook is the grand-daddy of social networking productivity killers. People spend hours browsing through their friends and their friend’s friend’s profiles while they should be doing something more productive like homework or web development. Now with the addition of Facebook apps, there seems to be an unlimited amount of excuses to keep checking back.
Solution:
Fortunately for some, facebooking does get a bit old after a while. I now only log into facebook once a day to check other people’s status or wall posts, surfing through profiles has just become too much. If you’re interest hasn’t faded, try to limit yourself to only half the amount of times you visit in a day (e.g. If you usually log in ten times a day cut it down to five). Keep doing this until you feel you’ve reached a good medium. It would also be a really good idea to forward facebook notification emails to your spam folder so you’re not tempted to log back in. If that still doesn’t work, you could always consider the drastic measure of *gasp* inactivating your account.
2. Youtube
Youtube is a huge productivity drain because you can spend hours and hours of watching videos on it and not gain a single slice of knowledge or information from it. Although the videos may be entertaining, how are you going to improve yourself and be motivated to create something worthwhile by watching Mr. Pregnant?
Solution:
Refrain from browsing through the related videos when you came there to watch just one. Usually the related videos are not as exciting or as good as the one you came to view there anyways. If the site has the Youtube player embedded, play the video on the site instead of having to visit Youtube so you can avoid the temptation of watching the countless other videos posted.
1. Digg
Digg is one of the most if not most informative site on the Internet. However, just because it’s informative doesn’t mean it’s good for productivity. Digg’s thought-provoking articles will cause you to think about one thing and then the next something completely different. With all this thinking going on, there’s no time for doing, like solving an article’s problem or completing your work. Knowledge is power but worthless if you don’t do anything with it.
Solution:
Wait until the end of the day to read the topics on Digg. The biggest problem with Digg as with many productivity wasters is that it’s continually updated every few minutes. This causes people to keep hitting refresh over and over again until a new story pops up, wasting your time. By reading at night you won’t have to wait for the next article to appear because you’ll be satisfied with all of the stories presented earlier in the day.
Don’t forget to remove your bookmarks for all of these sites as well. You’ll be less likely to visit if you have to type in the address instead of clicking a button. Follow these tips you’ll definitely find yourself with more productivity time.
Cents Add Up
One of my secrets behind the success of my websites is that odd cents here and there really add up. Let’s say for example you had a site that came up first for it’s keyword. If that keyword is money, or cars, you’d be set for life. But there’s so much competition for those words it makes it very very difficult and expensive to climb to even the first top ten displayed. Now say for example you had a website about some random and non-competitive keyword such as “glowsticks”. Because of the little competition and within a short period of time you can make that keyword show up in first place for searches. Ads for the keyword would be only a couple cents per click, but if you’re in the top search it’s likely that hundreds of people are viewing your site everyday (and clicking!). So for example let’s say you get about $0.14 cents per click for a keyword. If you’re first in the search results and 500 people see you in one day, and if you were to estimate that 1/4 of those people would click you’re ad, you would be making a nice $17.50 a day from just that one website. $17.50 might not seem like much at first, but here’s the trick: make more websites! If you want to make $100 dollars a month, make four more of those websites. If you want to make $5,000 dollars a month, then make about 280 more and it’s yours.
This isn’t the only way I make my money, but it’s a good stepping stone for those who are new to the scene. Just remember when looking for keywords that cents add up!
